I got a contract for $XXX but during the work some of the items I was hired to tackle were taken care of by my client and, therefore, I need to adjust the amount assigned in escrow for the contract.
So, here´s my question...What is the best way to approach this? Should I propose a new contract and cancel the other or do I accept a lower amount and submit the work for payment?
Thoughts?
Cheers!!

To make it clearer, let´s say the contract was set originally for $500 but given the client participated in some aspects of the work, we agreed on a $300 payment.
So, here´s my question...What is the best way to approach this? Should I propose a new contract and cancel the other or do I accept a lower amount and submit the work for payment?
Thanks in advance!!

Just request/accept the lower amount.
The client can get the rest back or leave it there for future tasks.

So, if I submit the work and request a $300 payment out of the $500 set for the contract originally...What happens with the other $200? Will it remain in escrow? What if the client doesn´t want it like this?
Can I send a refund for the $200 and submit the contract for a $300 payment?
