Suppose, we are 5 friends and all are logged in with the same freelancer (not agency) account from different locations but within the same country/region and a few among us are dealing with the same client sitting from different locations, and the remaining other friends are just watching their conversation.
Does Upwork allow this or it is a violation of Upwork?
Thanks,

Why would you want to do something like that anyway?
Irfan A wrote:If someone is doing such, does it result in the account holds temporarily or suspended permanently?
Usually permanently for grave violations such as that.
And now you have announced this on Upwork's own forum, expect your and all your agency accounts to come under close scrutiny to check who logged in to what and from where.....

One freelancer per account. You cannot allow anyone else to login using your account, ever.

Absolutely not. Only one person (the owner of the account) is **EVER** allowed to access an account or to deal with any client.

If someone wants to do what is the alternative?

There is no alternative. Each of those people need their own unique Upwork account. Yes, if you are sharing your account it will be suspended, probably permanently.

Why my account suspended after posted the question and after getting the right answer even I logged out from all the devices after getting to know immediately?

Hi Irfan,
As others mentioned in this thread, sharing an account is a serious violation of Upwork's Terms of Service.
If needed, you can check out this help article to learn more about freelancer account and violation holds.
Regarding your account hold, you can refer to this support ticket for more information and for the secure link to start the requested verification. In case you have any questions, feel free to ask them directly on the ticket so that our team can assist you further.
Thank you.

Thank you for your direction.
As you know my question was about account sharing which I didn't know before but after getting to know via this thread I immediately got the shared account back to me (owner of the account) immediately which was a gentle step by me. Then why it was still necessary to suspend the account even after overcoming the account sharing?

Because you and your friends have been violating Upwork's terms of Service.
It's like robbing a bank. If you stop robbing banks after the 5th robbed bank, you are still punished for bank robbery even if you stopped robbing banks after being caught.

If someone knows robbing is a serious violation and even if he knows it already, he still robs and then caught, must be punished.
But what is a scenario in which assume someone doesn't know that robbing is a violation and he robs then later he asked from the community and after getting the right answer he stopped robbing immediately, he must not be punished for his previous violations (robbings) which he doesn't know before.
Same in my case, I didn't know it before that's why I asked the community and after getting the right answer I stopped violations immediately then why punished?

You have GOT to be joking lol

But you *do* know about the violation. Or at least you should. Everyone who creates an Upwork account MUST agree to the terms and condition that you violated. So by having your account, you agreed to follow that. No one cares if you didn't read it, you agreed to it. It's like signing a deed of sale for your house and getting surprised that someone took your house LMAO.

He didn't just rob the bank, he then went to the nearest police station and asked for advice on how to avoid going to jail.

Because asking AFTER seriously violatiing the terms of service doesn't undo the violation.

If you carefully read my reply, I asked
"If someone wants to do what is the alternative?"
That's doesn't mean that I'm still gonna do the same violations after getting to know. The better answer to it could be like a suggestion "Make an agency account with your friends" etc.

Somebody who asks, "How do I find a way around this?" doesn't sound like someone who has taken "no" for an answer. Also, it was obvious from your original post that you knew about agencies already. You're wasting your time arguing about this.
