How relevant is client location?

Sorry for the stupid question, but still feel the need to ask it.

Are there clients who need to meet in person?

I'm a web developer in California.

If I can work remotely there might be some inconveniences due to time zone differences, but it shouldn't be much of a roadblock.  Otherwise, I'll need to screen for the location.  Not just California, but within a short radius of where I live.

Thanks.

On Upwork, most clients expect you to be working remotely.  The percentage who may want to work with you face-to-face is infinitesimal.  Mostly, I communicate via messages and occasionally by telephone and/or Skype.

Yes. Very rarely. If job doesn't specify this need, you may assume not.

Makes sense. There wouldn't be a lot of business going on if f2f was required.  I guess the location is irrelevant unless the client wants you on the phone or chat for frequent meetings.

Thank you both.
