How to cancel a paid membership?

I went for the paid membership to get my profile visible again when I didn't have earnings in the 30 day period, and now I want to cancel that. How do you do that?

Kindly follow the instructions below to downgrade your membership plan to basic plan:

Click the Account menu, select Settings, and then click Memberships & Connects.

Click the View or edit membership plan link.

Click the Downgrade Membership button.

Thanks, Ryan. There was no Downgrade Membership button on that page, but I tried the Sign Up button at the top of the Basid plan info, on the page you directed me to, and that took me to where I could change it back to basic.



Hi, I am facing the same problem, I have changed to "Freelancer Basic", by signin in, still the Current plan is active.


Will it be active for one month, since i have made the payment for the month.


Please let me know, how i can downgrade to the freelancer basic only.

I just wanted to confirm with you that you were able to click the button to sign up for the Basic plan, select a reason for downgrading and then continue as shown is this screenshot :

Your image is not loading. I am not getting any downgrade button. How shall I cancel Agency Plan?

Thank you for the question. The free Agency Basic plan has been discontinued and downgrading mentioned in the previous responses is no longer an option. If you want to continue with your agency account, you’ll need to remain subscribed to the Agency Plus plan. Alternatively, the agency will need to be closed in order to end the Agency Plus membership.

Is there an option to re-open the agency? Or will the whole profile, feedback, and history be deleted if I do not make a payment?

Hi. So Upwork directly deducted the Plus Fees despite that the account was longer in use since the past 20 days or so.
Can I get that amount back? I wish to go on with the basic plan If anytime in future if will be using it again

Thanks Joanne. But I have already changed the plan myself. Was just wondering if I can get the deducted amount back in my wallet or so?
I will use it to hire freelancers in future.
