How to download withdrawal invoice?

 in my transaction history i can see position 'Withdrawal Fee - Wire Transfer'. but i'm unable to get invoice for that fee.

 

the question is: is there any way to get that invoice or upwork is receiving money without issuing invoices?

Unfortunately, there is no downloadable invoice for withdrawal transactions. Thank you.

What's the reason behind? I need to download the Withdrawal invoice since it shows how much we earned in our LOCAL currency whch is needed for me to apply for a loan in my country.

I'm sorry if this option is not available, Mathew. The only invoices for download are the withdrawal fees, and the ivoices for the earnings you've received from each contract. 

You may want to check if you are able to use the Certificate of Earnings (Reports > Certificate of Earnings).

Hi Avery O,

 

Still not sure when everything is available on Upwork to make everyone's life easier, why the Withdrawal Invoices are not available.

 

I have faced this issue recently when I requested withdrawal in "Wire Transfer (USD)", when the payment reached my bank they called me to bring the Withdrawal Invoices, there were non available, I then took the Invoices of the payments I earned from my Client(s), they rejected them because they were not showing that the payment I recieved was actually released or transfered by Upwork to my bank account.

 

I am really struglling because of this issue. Kindly assist in this regard or at least provide a link of a blog or a verification certificate which we can show to our bank and prove to them that Upwork does not provide the Withdrawal Invoices.

I understand the difficulties you're having with your local bank in regards to receiving your funds. Please contact Customer Support with the transaction details and our team will review and provide a payment receipt for the withdrawal, which should help resolve the problem with your bank.

 

Also, we'd appreciate if other freelancers from your country would weigh in and share their experience, since based on my personal experience this doesn't appear to be a known problem that we hear or are contacted about infrequently.

mine problem is: it's a cost. for every cost, you need a proof - invoice. something that allow you to put that cost in your accounting books. it's that simple

So...? Is Upwork just not going to provide a solution for European freelancers?

 

 

Like Piotr, I have to prove my expenses for my tax return. And if I miss some of them, I will end up receiving a letter asking for all that money, maybe tomorrow or maybe in 2 years time. I cannot just use a screenshot of the transactions page, that is not an invoice and − as you already know − no government or tax office will accept it.

 

 

Every time I come to the community forums looking for an answer regarding something that affects my taxes and that can get me in serious trouble, all I can find is a message from Upwork that says something along the lines of "We are sorry this option is not available" − and it's getting frustrating.

 

Most freelancers are super patient and keep explaining the reasons behind their requests, and Upwork just disregards them.

 

Upwork is making money off of freelancers and I really don't understand why you keep making things difficult for us.

Thank you for the answer Avery, but your team is always so sorry that the word is starting to lose its meaning.

 

Like other freelancers have explained before, this is not a one-time thing. I have to provide invoices of my expenses every trimester and I have just a few days to do so, so if Customer Support takes a while to answer it means I miss the deadline. And even if they provide me with the invoices on time, it's still a pain to have to go through this process every time − I already waste enough time dealing with admin and accounting stuff.

 

 

Why does Upwork withhold this information instead of making it available like everything else? Can't we at least get an explanation?

Thank you for replying Vladimir G. Well the point here is why do we have to contact the Customer Support for the Withdrawal Invoices?

 

This is a very basic thing, you should just give an option to download the Withdrawal Invoices as well, those who'll need it will get benefit from it, and if someone doesn't want this option he will never touch it.

 

Just because this option is not available, the bank keeps asking me for the Invoices and every month I have to explain the same thing to them and given a written application why the Withdrawal invoices are not available =(

 

Kindly have this option available.

I've contacted Customer Support and they refuse to help. I've directed them to your answers and they just ignore me. For tax purposes I need to justify the bank and the government back home with a document justifying why I'm getting money from Upwork.... I expect more from Upwork, I thought you cared about your freelancers... It's crazy how much time we spend on this kind of things, this was one of our main topics on out last meet-up. This is a recurrent issue among freelancers, are you folks doing something about it?

I see the agent has explained what information Upwork is able to provide at the moment and clarified where to find it in Reports. I'm sorry to hear if that's not the information you are looking for but, unfortunately, we aren't able to provide documents that aren't already available in Reports on Help Center.

I keep having the same issue. Someone needs to explain to Upwork that local tax authorities need the actual invoice corresponding to the actual bank account in-flow. Not some Upwork generated invoices with transactions that are never shown on our own bank accounts.

This is a big issue. My current payment has been withheld by the bank until I provide them with some invoice. Because of this and I have to contact Upwork support to get the receipt and they are taking time while I am waiting for the money and giving excuses to my landlord as to why I haven't paid the rent yet. Why doesn't Upwork just give us a button to download that receipt? Being a developer I know it isn't a big task and for a company like Upwork, it should be a piece of cake.

You can download the invoice for your withdrawal by going to Reports > Transaction History > Click on the Ref ID > Under the More Info tab you will have the option to View and Download your invoice. Thank you.

Hi,

 

We are standing at the door of year 2020 but still no invoice for withdrawal. Kindly proivde the freelanucers with an invoice for withdrawal like we have invoices for other transactions. Banks are asking for this and every month there are tones of emails I do with my bank to get my payment credited in my account. 

 

Please do something about it. All we are asking is an invoice with Freelanucer name mentioned in it with the amount withdrawn.

have you get anything Omar bro, I am facing same issue. Local bank ask for invoice of Withdrawal from Upwork, and Upwork does not provide that. Which temporarily solution you doing to overcome this please advise. And Upwork do you care us for that issue, please just provider download option for Withdrawal transaction.

You can download the invoice for your withdrawal by going to Reports > Transaction History > Click on the Ref ID > Under the More Info tab you will have the option to View and Download your invoice. Thank you.

no option for withdrawal transaction to download please be fully informed before replying our exact question, all other types of transaction have option to download. see screen shot below of withdrawal transaction

Regarding your withdrawal, please keep in mind that It can take between 2 to 5 business days for the funds to be loaded on your bank account. If you have not received the funds after 8 business days let us know, and our team will initiate a trace on your transaction. Thank you!

Question is, why don't you just give an option to download the invoice for every Withdrawl we make?

Everything else is working fine, this is an important thing, our Banks in Pakistan require the withdrawl invoice because of the strict laws due to money laundring and stuff.

 

Kindly look into this ASAP.

To clarify any confusion we might have created, I'd like to confirm that we only provide invoices for client payments and not for withdrawals. We do hear your feedback and will shared it again with our team. At the moment, providing invoices for withdrawals isn't on our immediate roadmap.

we need invoice for withdrawal amount, not the client amount, because after deduction of service fee from client invoice it becomes actual withdrawal amount. We need to show invoice to our local bank for actual withdrawal amount. That is what we are saying i hope it clarifies you. Please convey our biggest concern to your team either provider it in transaction tab like other invoices or send us via email when we request that with each withdrawal. It is very important to us and necessary to recieve funds here in Pakistan. We need proof of withdrawal amount. Please give us feedback on that after talking with your team.

Any update on this? It's already 2022 and still we cannot download invoices for withdrawals. I am applying for a Schengen Visa and the consul is asking for my Upwork invoice withdrawals so that he can check and balance that it is being sent via my bank statements for the past 6 months. This documentation is really important and I don't know why  invoice for withdrawal is not available like everything else.  What is the reason behind this?

I've got the same issue as stated above, and I fully share the concern of my fellow freelancer.

 

I've tried what you said, but it is still impossible to download withdrawal invoices. It's truly desapointing that such issue have not been solved since 2018.

Well it doesn't work, this is not Invoice for the Withdrawal, it only shows "Transaction Details", we want the withdrawal invoices to be same as they are for rest of the transactions.

It will be good if Upwork provides the withdrawal amount's invoice because while doing the Income Tax return file I need to show that from where this amount received, who sends you how much money but I don't have any proof for that. So it will be if they provide the same.

Would it be possible for the Hourly invoice to include the service fee deduction that comes in a separate invoice? I can't declare the amount in the original invoice since the widthdrawal will always be less than the amount earned in the invoices and I have no way of proving I paid the fee as it wasn't paid from my bank account. Am I missing something here?

I have the same problem I will be withdrawing to Bank and it's A must to have a withdrawal invoice without fees, or they will hold my money with no return.

and how you dealt with previous bank withdrawlals ?

 

For Upwork, is there any solution for this ?

Hi everyone, I have found a workaround for this. I create an invoice at https://invoice-generator.com/ where I mention individual projects and how much amount is coming from each one of them. I am not sure about other countries but it is working for banks here in Pakistan

As Upwork doesn't provide withdrawal invoices, so what I do is create a fake invoice and attach a screenshot of this discussion as proof that Upwork doesn't prove invoices and the generated invoice is not provided by Upwork rather generated on my own. Please see the screenshot in the attachment which I show to my bank.
