I have been on the site for over 3 years, . A very difficult start, half a year a lot of offers 1-2 orders, at very low rates from 10 to 50 dollars. During this time there were ups and downs. 3 difficult clients. More good, amazing, pleasant in communication and generous clients. I am very grateful that I am here. Upwork - you are the best! I got a lot of cool communication, improved my skills. Wrote thousands of offers and comments, sent thousands of files.
My life has changed for the better. I became more independent of circumstances. Now there is only one request to the creators of the upwork. But first, the background: while I was starting out, I participated in design competitions for 99 to take my time and practice being the best. So, on this site you can put any name and country not to specify and change everything at any time. Thanks to these functions (and I put a German name for the experiment and hid the country). Thanks to my professionalism, I managed to take the order of the 16th century winery logo and become the 2nd finalist out of 80 designers and 900 logo designs and many more good projects. I, a girl from Kazakhstan (many people need to open Google to find out where this country is) and never dreamed of such peaks. Kazakhstan, which Borat describes, is 5% true.
So, I propose to introduce an innovation - to remove the country (I am ready to pay for additional connections) if desired and possible. Because I believe, and this is in fact, that the client has a biased attitude from where the specialist lives. The skill does not depend on the country. And then freelancers travel all over the world, live in one country in winter, in another in summer, often move. Or make a function to remove the country only for top, top+ (as I am now) and further. The platform, and I am convinced of this, and freelancers will earn more, everyone wins! After all, Upwork is about skill, not geography! I will be happy if everyone starts talking about it, on all forums, and the situation will change one day.
