How to end a contract

I've taken on a new client recently. I am the Freelancer.

Subsequently it transpires that the client is subcontracting the work directly to me, whilst pretending to be somebody else at a company.

Basically he is recording meetings and sending me the video. He is also saying yes no problem to any request in the meeting.

He is instructing me to pretend to be a different country via VPN and log on with supplied credentials (not my own).

How do I extricate myself from this client without damaging my profile?

Just close the contract.

If you close the contract, then it becomes possible for the client to never leave feedback of any kind.

If you don't want to continue working on this job, the contract needs to be closed. Better for you to close it rather than have the client close it, if you think he won't be pleased.

You are worried about impact on your profile. But any impact will be negligible compared to the damage done if you are caught logging in to someone else's profile.

I would enlist UW's help on this. If I understand the situation correctly, your client violates the ToS when he enlists you to deceive his client. That should mean if you report it, you can get out of the contract with no feedback on either side and it won't count in your JSS.
