How to get a payment without a contract and according to the rules Upwork

Hi!

Is it possible to accept payment via Upwork but without a contract?

In October, I created a topic that a client refused to pay for an inactive Milestone. I did as Preston advised (in this comment: https://community.upwork.com/t5/Freelancers/How-can-I-attract-a-customer-to-pay-for-my-contract/m-p/...I ended the contract, stopped worrying and switched to new projects.

Today, the client offered to refund part of the payment.
I want to make a payment according to the Upwork rules. But I don't want to create a new contract, because I'm afraid that the client may leave a bad review.

What is the best thing to do in this situation?
Is it possible to somehow make a payment with the payment of Upwork commissions with withdrawal to PayPal, for example?

It is NOT NECESSARY to have an active contract in order to receive payment from a client.

A client may use the “Send bonus” tool to send a payment to a previously-hired freelancer using an already-closed contract.

There is no limit to the dollar amount. There is a one-year time limit.

Thank you, Preston!

P.S. I was worried that the client would leave a bad review. The forum said that he probably won't write anything. And so it happened.

Thank you, Сommunity!
