We were discussing the job to come up with a precise plan, negotiating and all. The client suddenly went silent for one week and now I find out he had left the room.
What could happen here because we were on very good terms? If he decided not to hire me he can just tell me. Is there any way I can reach him again?

I personally would not try to reach this client again. If he wish to hire me he would let me know.

This job could be a life-changing event for me. It was a very big deal. That's why it's hard for me to let it go :(.

Whether or not this job could be a life changing event, the fact is that this client is no longer communicating with you for whatever reason on HIS part. All you can do now is to leave a message for him saying that you are available if he wants to continue on. And as much as you want this job, whatever happens, happens. I would suggest to you, if you leave that message, not to contact him again. The ball is in his court (so to speak) and if he wants to hire you, or communicate with you then HE will. As for you, all you can do is move on.
