How to start tracking time with new version?

Hi

As usually, some minutes ago started tracking time on my long term project.

After a while, received offer to update odesk team software.

After a successful update, tried to start tracking again. But now, Memo contains "Assigned activity" dropdown, and start rejected, if it not filled. However, I cannot fill it because there is nothing to select in this dropdown. And I definitely do not know what is the Assigned Activity.

So, the new version has completely broken my job on the contract. What to do?

But discussion you mentioned is about another problems - messages and attachments. I can live without them.

My problem - unable to start tracking time, therefore - earn money.

But I found a workaround. Found an old version in http://odesk-team-room.software.informer.com/3.2/ It works.

Unfortunately oDesk page does not offer old versions, only latest and latest beta. Tried both without success.

 

Note. The problem exists only for timed jobs. Tried new version for one of my fixed price job - had no this dropdown, and time tracking started.

Under Help in the version you have it should have Switch to old version. You should be able to change back to the old version.

 

 

Had no Switch to old version in today's 3.10.33. Had Switch to Beta instead, and Beta (3.10.39) had the same problem with time tracking.

The version I found in network and currently use, is 3.8.17.

I am terrified about updating to this new version. I'd like to wait, but does anyone know what will happen if I don't update? I've been able to track time today, but not sure how much longer that will work.

Dear Pandorra,

Nothing bad will happen if you not update. Only - you regularly will receive prompts to update. Reject them, until oDesk team will not release a fixed version.

Yes, Maris is right. After downloading the previous update, some months ago, I soon realised it didn't work, so I switched back to the older version, and do not intend to update it as long as it runs ok.
