How to time track for language interpreters?

Hi,

I am new to Upwork and trying to figure out how to track time for interpretation service.

I often follow my clients to the fields for live interpretations and I know that the time tracker cannot track my provided service time in action.

I am not sure how the payment would work. It says that I will get paid for the time tracked on Upwork, but I cannot track time because I'm at the field.

Can anyone with similar experience help me to understand how this works?

Your choices are a) hourly with tracked time entered manually (can present a danger of non-payment with clients you don't know and trust) or b) fixed price with each session priced and submitted for payment separately (be sure to set up sessions as milestones, insist on each session being fully funded by client in escrow prior to work starting, don't work on a new session until payments for all completed sessions have been released to you by the client or Upwork).

You won't have true payment protection under either option a) or option b).
