How to trust a recruiter who asks for a signup fee and doesn't have previous history?

I got an email from one of the recruiters stating the project requirements. However, the recruiter is asking for a sign up fee. And i am unsure if i should pay or not as he doesn't have previous history. Please suggest what to do in this case.

It's a scam. There is no job, they just try to find people who are willing to pay them money for nothing.

Thank you. I have marked the job as inappropriate. The recruiter was asking
me for money, my id proof, photo and contact details as well.
