Greetings,
Just 15min ago i received an job offer, an invitation, with job details not much revealed. Also they suggest to speak via Skype and send me a link which looks like this:
**Edited for Community Guidelines**
I asked for his Skype contact and he replied:
(He sent the link again) smiled, and added "just click the link it's super easy"
I clicked the link thinking it is Skype. Really hard to notice at first anything but i see something else might be behind it.
I checked him right away and i see he has around 30 jobs and every job he has had was with 5$ fixed fee and not a cent more or less!
Also he gave every freelancer exactly the same review comment!
I am very skeptical of this and i am about to change my details RIGHT AWAY
I need someone to check this out and since i am aware i cannot share much details in public i would like to speak with someone of the UpWork members to help me with this.

Are you interested in a $ 5 job? If not, just decline. It is a normal invite to skype which is generated from within skype, in itself nothing suspicious.

Okay he send me an request on Skype like i suggested to him.
At first i am not interested in such job, however from experience i am aware that not many people are very careful what they put or how they need to make a proposal for a freelencer so some often put prices that are way below or way over what is normally required.
So i think he might change that, but after he sent the link it was suspicious to me. Sorry but i have had bad experience in the past if you remember with the phishing and i care not to happen it again.
Once i clicked the link it asked to click on something else further more. Not doing that!
So we are on skype now but ... his job history is very suspicuos to me...almost like its some fake client who pretends to have had freelancer working for him.

It is really your decision if you want to work with this client or not, not sure what you expect to hear from the forum?

He is expecting for a nice and helpful opinion, suggestion.... I suppose that if someone needs help he is not expecting for your kind of answer Martina.

He got that (too,) including evidence that the link in itself is not fraudulent which appears to have been his main worry.

"I Need Help!" in all caps, over whether or not to accept a $5 job?
I thought maybe you had fallen into a well or something.
Next time, try using a headline that describes your actual question, such as "Is it okay to use Skype?" or "Should I accept a $5 job?"
Anyway, you are putting a lot of time and effort and thought into something with a maximum payout of $5.00. If you have suspicions, just block this client and move on.
