I am not getting any project on upwork

Hi All,

I started work as a freelancer with Odesk. I earned a top-rated badge too. I was quite successful. However, in 2015 I was not able to grab the projects, therefore, I started devoting my time and skills to my office job.

However, I planned to resume the freelancing work and bought Upwork membership and paid connects recently as well. But, unfortunately, I am still not able to grab the projects on Upwork even after, I had decent earnings, experience, and feedback. Not getting any single client response from the submitted paid proposals.

Upon checking the history of proposals, I noticed that most of the clients are not hiring anyone. Moreover, some clients do not bother to interview anyone and a few projects get canceled due to some reasons. In such types of situations, other freelancers and I are wasting many paid connects without any outcome.

Furthermore, when clients post their job requirements, the Upwork system started to suggest top-rated freelancers and best match to the clients. Moreover, if freelancers have not completed any project with the required skills then the system will hide the paid proposal. In this case, if clients and Upwork are interested in top-rated freelancers only then why others are submitted paid proposals?

I would really appreciate it if you could provide your valuable feedback on my concerns.

I am facing same situation. Although equipped with strong profile, response is NIL. I wonder if the projects are genuine given that no feedback and or projects auto closes after few days / weeks

I came on Upwork to up my sales but seems like somethings not well and good. Purchasing bids and still some clients have zero hires, making fake posts. 

Anyways, try using someother platform, I am doing great with some other platform with same details and portfolio.

There are more freelancers than clients so not everyone gets chosen. If you have been trying for a year without success, it is either time to try a new approach or a new platform.

You need to improve your profile, fix the capitalization and punctuations on your profile. 

You are most likely sending proposals with incorrect capitalization, grammar, and punctuations. Client Your profile gives the first impression of you to the client, and no client wants a translated document with incorrect grammar and punctuation! 

Also, your hourly rate is too high consider lowering it to a more realistic rate!

What do you expect? Your profile is  incomplete, includes no hint that you are actually a translator, there is no portfolio or any indication that you have any experience, expertise or education in that field.
