I am surprised with clinet's offer

Is it a joke with data entry freelancers? Or clients are forcing us? We do data entry but we don’t sleep. Clients are offering $5 (includes oDesk’s fee) for 500 finding entries (though copy and paste project)? After all of this “Lowest Bidder Will Win”

I really don’t understand what is going on?

I saw that and had the same reaction.

In my opinion, the problem is this:

"Applicants: 55" (so far)

It is not hard to uderstand the clients want to pay the minimum to get the job done. If they do not offer much but people still apply, perfect for them.

It is the same with any type of work (not only data entry) where someone is willing to work for 1$/hr.. Thank god that is not possible anymore.

They're not forcing you to take the offer, the rate can be set by you. Only bid for jobs which are worthwhile.

If they are not forcing, why they are offering $5 for 500 entries? Why "Lowest Bidder Will Win"

They are taking down the market

i don't see a gun pointed at your head, do you?

and if you're not interest in a contest, "lowest bidder will win" shoudn't really bother you. Smiley Wink
