I can't open disput

I have a problem with payment
The project budget is $ 200
The client paid only $ 5 and closed the contract
I said him that he needed to pay the rest, he wrote that he could not find such a function, I sent him a contract, but after that the client does not appear

and now I can't open disput
i follow the instructions - https://support.upwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/211068528-Dispute-Non-Release-of-a-Milestone-Payment
but I go to the tab "My jobs" then you need to click on "View Request" in end contract but there is no option "View Request" on the site
How do I open a disput?

Dmytro:

You made a mistake. It is important for you to learn from your mistake, and not make that same mistake again.

The "project budget" does not matter.

$200 does not matter.

What counts is the money funded in escrow.

If the client funded $5, and released all of that money to you, then there is no basis for dispute.

You can not file a dispute.

Upwork will not do anything to help you get more money.

In the future, if you want to be paid $200 for a task, then that is how much money the client should fund in escrow for that task.

thanks for the answer

And even if the client writes "yeah I'm trying to fix, there isn't an option to pay the rest of the budget"
it does not matter?
I mean the client admits his mistake

Hi Dmytro,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with this client. For future reference, please make sure to start working on a Milestone only after it has been funded for the appropriate amount.

I can see that you already have a support ticket with our team regarding this concern. Please consider following up on your open ticket and kindly communicate with our team through that ticket if you have any questions, in order to keep all the information in one place.

Thank you!

re: "And even if the client writes 'yeah I'm trying to fix, there isn't an option to pay the rest of the budget'"

The client is either telling you the truth, and does not know how to use the Upwork user interface, or not. If he is sincere in his desire to pay you, he CAN pay you using the "Pay Bonus" tool. If he wants help, then he can ask us for help here in the Forum.

If he is not sincere in his desire to pay you, then when he tells you it doesn't work, he is not telling you the truth, but is stalling and wants you to go away.

Upwork may not be able to help you, but maybe you can help yourself.

If the client made an honest mistake and really wants to pay the rest of the money due under the agreement you had, can they just pay you a bonus? If so, your honest client will be glad to know how this can be done.

I have seen others post here that that is a possibilty, though I have never done it  myself.

Good luck!

The client can look at his Contracts page, and click on the "three dots" icon next to the contract name. He can click on that and show a dropdown menu which lets him pay a bonus.

The client can pay a bonus while the contract is open OR when the contract is closed. He can pay a bonus in any amount. He does NOT NEED to create a new milestone.
