Did you setup an hourly contract or a fixed price contract?

If it is hourly, and you tracked time with the upwork time tracker, then you will get paid the week following the week you worked.

If it is a fixed price contract then the client pays into a milestone PRIOR to you starting work. once you have completed the work you click the 'submit work for payment' button and you will be paid 14 days later (unless the client releases the funds sooner or requests amendments to the work)

This just shows a proposal you have sent. you do not have a job on the platform yet - I would recommend you spend some time reading up on how Upwork works. Why would you complete the job before the client has even accepted your proposal.

It looks like you have been scammed. To avoid this in future, do not complete work without an active hourly contract or an active fixed price contrat with funded milestones. (then dont do any work past the level of the milestone/hours allocated per week)

Looking at your profile I cant see any open jobs? (im not sure if they would always display?) If you have no contracts setup on the platform then im unsure how you expect upwork to help?

Only a scammer would ask for a "linking fee" or any other form of payment in order to pay a freelancer for their work. Do not pay a cent.

Plus, it seems like you only have an "active proposal" and not a contract. Do not work before a contract is in place.

It sounds like you have no idea how Upwork works.
You just fell for a scam.
You obviously have not read the TOS, which you claimed to have done when creating your profile.
Before you continue submitting proposals, read this, everything:

And by the way, if I were you I would get rid of your ChatGPT rant on your profile and make it more human.
