Hey, i was messaging someone for a job. And he asks me to pay $50 so they can make an premium ID card for me so i can start working. Is this something they do? Or is this a scam? (Its my first time on this site, so i want to be sure before i do anything)

It is a scam and there is a lot of different types of scams you may come across - client asking you to pay, client asking to use your account, client getting you to break Upwork rules and threaten to get you suspended if you don't work for free for them. Sometimes it's easy to notice, other times a client may put time to earn your trust before they try to get you.
