I just got scammed

Everyone be aware of contracters asking to talk outside of the upwork site. I just spent 2 days working on a project for **Edited for Community Guidelines**, contacting them outside of the app because i didn't know that it wasn't allowed. I sent them the work, they are now not responding and they have taken down the job offer. I AM FURIOUS!!!!!

Don't do work without a contract in place. You can make contact outside of Upwork but only with a contract in place first.

Your clients make the contract you just wait for them to send you it

UW should do more to alert freelancers that they need to make themselves aware of the rules and the likeliehood that they will run across scams here.
