I'm tired of looking at how Upwork deletes accounts for no reason

I recently worked with a guy on a project, but suddenly his account was deleted. I often saw that Upwork deletes accounts, but did not understand the reasons. But now everything is clear to me. A few weeks ago, Upwork deleted one guy’s account, its ruined my project. I will send his story here, and I hope we can figure it out. He cannot post here because his account has been deleted. Cool Upwork, no man, no problem.

 

Story:

I worked properly on Upwork, did not go beyond the upwork, did not violate its rules, and was Top Rated, at the time of removal. I already had one long term client. I earned more than 25k, and had all the verification that you can think of. At one point I needed to visit russian sites, some of which were blocked in the territory where I live. I had to use a VPN. After that, I went to Upwork with VPN. An hour later, my account was temporarily suspended. After that, I turned to support, they asked me to confirm my identity, I photographed a photo of my passport and a municipal bill. After that I was informed that in the municipal bill, there is no my name. They asked me to send the documents again. Since I am renting an apartment, I do not have payment receipts with my name. Upwork: "Your name. If you live with someone you can send the statement in their name as long as their last/surname name matches the last/surname shown on your ID.". I sent a receipt with the name of my father, we have the same last name. After checking, I got this answer: In response to your concerns, we’ve completed another review of all the information available. In doing so we have concluded that your account will remain permanently deactivated. They deleted my account, I can’t access it under my login. On my account I had about $1000 and plus $1500 completed milestone. I lost this money. Neither upwork support via email, nor facebook, nor the upwork manager of my country answers me. I have only one question for upwork, if I am the person who works on this account, I live where I indicated in the account, I did not give my account to anyone. Why didn’t you look at my documents that were sent by the rules dictated by you. And deleted my account. What did I break? You took my honestly earned money. I am an experienced senior level specialist, why should I incur losses because of you? Your support which you just need to close the ticket as quickly as possible?

 

Here is such a sad story. I want upwork to figure this out. I understand why you ban people. You fight the financing of terrorism. But don’t you become them if you keep honest people in fear that you can delete their account and take away their money that they earn for their family?

No reason? It was his fault. Not like Upwork is randomly deleting account. He faked his location, and couldn't get any confirmation of his real one. Upwork is very strict on verification because there are a lot of scammers that abuse that.

 

He could get a local bank statement. I'm sure they would activate it. The only reason he was banned is the location.

Upwork has an inadequate response to everything, if they already have a document that indicates the correct address, they comply with the rules that they sent by email. As for me it was quite adequate to ask, dude, listen, the address is the same, but we are not happy with the name, I think then a person would send documents for the third time and find a way to create the right documents. The "No chance" policy, these are not strict rules, but incorrect support work.

sir same happened to me i have already had all documents with the name date of birth on it but they are not verifying that I am 18+ as you are Indian you know the pan is the only valid identity along with aadhar.

I send all document including pan aadhar and 10 CBSE mark sheet but they are not verifying me

In the end they verify me and I have passed all verification including video call verification and also got a tick in my profile but in the end, Upwork delete the account saying that I have all wrong identity.

It doesn't cost anything for users to create an Upwork account.

 

How would Upwork get more money by deleting your account?

If the answer to everything is: They want more money, there is no logic required. It's a logic free answer, therefore works with everything.
