I need to report a client, HOW do I do that??????

This client just wasted 2 hours of my time with a bogus question and answer interview in Google Hangouts which shouldn't be allowed by the way.  All communication should go thru Upwork.

Client represented themselves as a major corporation but the email is gmail and outlook.  They want to send me a check before I start working so I can purchase software and equipment.  Initially stated I would fill out paperwork during online orientation but then stated they wanted to send me a check for me to buy software and equipment.

There is no flag button or link on the invitation to interview or the job posting itself so I could report the position.

Why do we have to go thru a group answer process?

Phoebe:

Every job posting has a "Flag as inappropriate" button/link at the top of the page, on the right-hand side. Use that to report the scammer "client."

you have learned a valuable lesson:

All invitations to interview using Google Hangouts are scams.

Next time you receive such, you can save a lot of time by immediately ending communication and Flagging the job or client.

Hi Phoebe,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Thanks for flagging this job to us. I've checked and it looks like the job has already been taken down because it was in violation of Upwork ToS and action has been taken on the client account.

Please, check this help article for more information on how to use the flag option found on each job post or message to report any suspicious or inappropriate content. Also, check out this post for more tips on how to avoid questionable jobs.

Thank you.
