Because you signed up to pay monthly fee for Freelancer Plus. You need to cancel it.

It is a feature that gives more connects and better visibility into bidding and some other perks, but it costs 15 dollars per month.

In addition, this has nothing to do with your ID. ID verification is meant for clients so they know it's really you. Upwork doesn't care if your ID is verified or not, but they do care to charge you for that 14.99 $ each month.

Hi Thomas, 

It looks like you upgraded your Freelancer Membership Plan last year, and you should be able to check this by going to your Settings > Membership & Connects page.

In addition, you probably don't care too much about your money, as you let it charge you for 12 months before noticing 🙂
