Id verification for Indian users

Hi,

I don’t have a single Id card with all the details (picture, signature, name, date of birth, and address) together.

So I took a scanned image of 3 id cards placed on scanner (Aadhar (National Id Card), Voter Id Card and PAN Card) and submitted.

I got this reply, It does not specify what is the issue.

“We had an issue verifying your identity information.”

I have driving licence, but signature is on the back side, and address is slightly different from the billing address that I have.

I have 4 id cards (National ID card, Voter ID card, PAN Card, Driving license). But none of them have  (picture, signature, name, date of birth, and address) together on the front page. 

Please mention what are the acceptable ids for Indians. And how to submit a single card with both front and back pages.

Upwork is saying that image should not be modified and there is option to upload only a single image.

I think almost all Indians have this issue, as mentioned here

Thats shocking to hear from you that your id's doesnt contain such information.

FYI,

Smart card drving license has person name, fathers name, address, date of birth, signature, and photograph.

As you said, you has voter Id card, voter id card has Voter ID number, photograph, date of birth, person name, gender, father's name.

Pan Card has person name, father's name, date of birth, PAN number, SIgnature and person photograph.

Well if you are a legit person, hopefully you have bank account, scan the bank passbook which contains your photograph, your physical address, Your name and hopefully that will get approved.

Thank you for the reply.

My driving licence is not "Smart card driving license”. But it has all the info. 

The problem is that signature is on the back side. How to submit a single card with both front and back pages scanned together? Upwork is saying that image should not be modified and there is option to upload only a single image.

Regarding the bank passbook, it does not contain the signature and also not listed as a valid document here.

Are you able upload a ZIP file? Seems this would solve the issue of needing to provide a front and back image of the ID.

No reply yet. I have uploaded “Aadhar” to see if that will pass through, and still waiting….

It has “Year of birth” instead of “Date of birth” and no signature.

But it is the official “National ID of India”

I hope they will not insult India by rejecting our national ID card.

Lena, please let us know if it is official statement from upwork that “Aadhaar and PAN cards are accepted” . It will help all Indians.

Good evening Nabhas,

Thousands of Indians are already active on this platform, including me (for the last 2 years). You can submit the following:

1. Passport (most preferred).

2. UID/ Aadhar card.

3. Driver's license.

4. PAN card.

All the above have a photograph and also your signature, along with your date of birth.

If you have a driver's license with the signature on the back, then do the following:

1. Go to a photocopier (nearest Xeroxwala) and ask him to take a photocopy of the front page of your license, on the top of the blank page.

2. Once that is done, reverse your license and now ask him to photocopy it on the bottom half of the blank page.

3. Now you have a page with the front page at the top and the back page at the bottom, scan this page and forward it for verification.

If you are still in doubt, visit your bank with your passbook. Stick a photograph on the front, ask the bank official to stamp their seal across your photograph. Scan this page and send for verification.

That seems promising.

I have all these cards except passport which expired a couple of years back.

I have applied for renewing it today.

I suspect they rejected first time because I took a scanned image of 3 different id cards placed together on the scanner.

Now I am trying my luck with our National ID card “Aadhar”, which has “Year of birth” instead of “Date of birth” and no signature column. May be the Indian government has made that on purpose for security reasons.

It is taking 3-4 days for each attempt. I am waiting for their response.

Hello !

I’m facing the same problem! I also got rejected and I don’t know how to verify my id!

I passed the video verification successfully but I stuck with id verification!

I have my Aadhar card (National id) but there is not any signature on it ...

Also in the front page of my if card there is only my name and my Fathers name on it with Date of birth! But if i flip my I’d then you guys can see my Complete Address!

Kindly guide me ! Any help will be appreciated!
