If the client has no response, can I close the paused contract?

Hi Good day.
I've 2 contracts(fixed and hourly basis) with one client.
I passed the test fixed project and was hired on hourly basis.
After several weeks' working client decided to go with internal team and paused the contract.

It has already been over 4 months and thru upwork community I knew "non-activity" contracts gave the negative effect to my JSS.
I asked previous client to resume the contract if he has any task or close it if he has no job for me.
But there is no response from him.
In this case what should I do?
Do I just need to wait for the answer from him?
Isn't there any any way to close the contract on my side? If then, there would no feedback for me. and rather it can be worse effect to me. Am I right?
Please advise me how to handle this situation.

Thanks.

Just close them.  It will have **NO** effect on your profile unless the client leaves poor feedback.

Go to the contract, click on the three dots on the right, and close it.
