Increased cost of connects per project proposal

Hello Upwork community!

Right after we as freelancers were introduced to new model - pay per proposal via connects, I noticed few, at least interesting things on a platform -
1. Cost of general connects/proposal is much higher then it was before. For example, majority of job proposals in my specialised field /Animation-Whiteboard Animation/ costed 2 connects for more then a year and half, now suddenly, most job proposals cost 4 and more connects per proposal. Price range or type of jobs remained the same, but number of required connects are now much higher then before. Do you have similar experience?

2. I will not go into debate about pay per connects thing, but at least cost per proposal should be objective.
For example, today I noticed a simple job proposal - **Edited for Community Guidelines**Create a similar arrow gif as in an attachment, fixed price 5$ with price of 2 required connects to submit a proposal?
Can you please explain me a logic - why such project cost 2 connects when, a freelancer would earn only a little more then 3 dollars for this task? It should cost 1 connect, right, there is no smaller task/price than this job proposal!

Just wanted to share those thoughts with community! Best regards!

I didn't even read this. Freelancers need to just accept it's 6 proposals per project. budget that in whatever connects you buy cuz that's prolly gonna be what it is.

everysingle job post i submit a proposal costs 6 connects, 1 dollar. meanwhile upwork thinks its fine that there are jobs that pay 1 dollar per design duh?.

if the reason to do this increased cost was to reduce number of proposal spamers it worked but they should/must find another way to do that, other than making you pay for a chance to get a job. Come on at least make clients reply proposals with the reject reasons or something.

before i had 30 free proposals at my disposal, now i have to pay 27 dollars to get the same amount.
