Hello everyone. The reason I am writing here is because I need your support and advice on this matter. I have come across this outrageous job post. I will paste the outrageous part here for you to see: ------------------------------------------------------------- "Details will be provided to the short listed candidates only. Preferred Qualifications: -Must be very fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages will be a plus be not mandatory. -Should follow the US accent while talking. -Must be willing to do anything that is required and ordered by me. -Must never say No. -Tasks will vary from time to time and according to necessity. -The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude and must be willing to do anything for me and obey my commands always." ------------------------------------------------------------ Now, read the job post and tell me if this is not exaggerated, ridiculous and abusive? Is there a human rights activist around here ? Is there anybody who cares about these things ? I do feel insulted and irritated. Maybe he is a supreme leader I am not aware of and who I should obey without questioning. I know I have a choice not to bid on such a job, but why should there be such words and such ridiculous requirements? Thank you for taking the time to read this. -Adriana

There's more on this job post on page 4 here: https://www.odesk.com/community/node/29575 It takes all sorts to make up a world; this is a place for over-18s; and if consenting adults want to make those sorts of arrangements then good for them. To quote Lady Astor (I think): "Fine, as long as they don't do it on the street and frighten the horses" (it was a while ago). You've already decided that it's not for you, so forget it and move on. You could flag the post, probably, and I expect a few people have...but what are you expecting to happen? That oDesk will step in and kill the post? You see, once that interference culture becomes the norm then the next time it could be you on the wrong end of it and you could be sanctioned because some other bugger didn't approve of what you were doing/saying/thinking. Live and let live.

Thank you for your reply. I've just checked the link you provided. I realized I am not the only one insulted by this which is good! The only problem is, I can't let go. oDesk does nothing! Absolutely nothing. I just wonder how this could be possible? This is humiliation at its best, approved by specialists and teams who are supposed to offer us a pleasant work environment. We are basically paying to be humiliated. I am beginning to hate this place more than I resent the idea of an existing hell Smiley Happy Thank you very much for reading my post and giving a solution to my problem.

See Cheapest jobs 2 for further discussion on this unusual entry :-) P.S Hell's pushing it, at least you don't have to meet these people in person!

I'm so itching to apply for this job with a one-liner: Dear Master... I am born to make you happy Truly, Your Virtual Slave Hahaha... reminds me of this book though. Just move on, I'd say. Thankfully, the world is not grey.

Some people want to be humiliated. Can't really get the point of it myself; but don't take it personally. If you feel that way then it's not meant for you. Or for me. Just think of it as a job outside of your skillset and move on.
approved by specialists and teams who are supposed to offer us a pleasant work environment
oDesk has never been that, or even claimed it in anything that I've read. The important thing to remember is that people can be very weird.
