Interview invites from Talent Specialists

Hi - sorry about the forum post, I don't feel like chatting with the Upwork Bot.

I've been getting a ton of invites recently, and a lot of them for sales jobs. I have one job that's called Appointment Setting, but it stopped being that a long time ago. I am probably going to be asking my client to close that contract and open a new one as this is not helpful. But this job description will always be in my profile, so opening a new one may be useless for this purpose.

Additionally, in my profile, I wrote I am not the best at cold calling, prospecting, sales, etc.

A lot of these job invites come from Talent Specialists. Do these people not read my profile write-up before sending me a sales job invite? A little more attentiveness would be nice.

Does anyone know any solutions for this? I appreciate the invites, but I feel like eveyone's time is wasted when I get an invite for a sales job.

We have no evidence that Talent Specialists read our profiles--at least, read with any comprehension at all--before sending invitations. Search the forum and you will find reams of conversation about this.

Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to polute the forums. I just finished declining another job invite. I feel like it's such a waste, you know? They are supposed to be specialists.

I didn't mean to come across as chiding. It's a real problem IMO. It's aggravating to us but the worst part is the frequency with which they must disappoint clients.

I'm sure Steve Holm does not agree with you, but then again, he's been flogging his pet dead horse for so long that he's lost all perspective.

It's much worse than a waste. By consistently making bad matches, they create the impression that there are no well-qualified freelancers available for the client's project, increasing the likelihood that the client will leave the platform and seek other options for connecting with freelancers.

Yeah. It's really a shame. I got another sales job invite today.

I had already sent screenshots of the last one. I mean, would it really hurt Upwork to tell their Talent Specialists that they should read the profile of the person they are inviting.

My profile specifically says I would not be a fit for sales jobs. For the love of Dog, this is not hard.

Thanks, Aleksandar.

And I responded with appropriate screenshots.

However, as someone else said in a variety of posts regarding this issue, my one issue is not a problem. The entire system seems to be full of issues. I hope something can be done.

We just want to get invited to appropriate jobs, not never get invited to a job again.

Most if the jobs that I receive invites to apply for are either expired or closed without any hires.
Not a good experience so far.
