Hi,

I received an invitation to interview from Upwork Talent Specialist.

I'd like to accept the invitation but now I wonder if I make a proposal and write a cover letter, will those go to the client or Upwork Talent Specialist as he is the one who made the invitation.

Naturally, the client will decide who to hire, so I want to be sure.

 Hello Anneli.

Just reply to the invitation. I believe that the concerned Upwork Talent Specialist advised you to apply directly to the job post which clients will surely receive.

Good luck!

Hi Anneli,

I would like to confirm that it will be the client who will receive the proposal to the job post.

Thank you for answering.

To be sure I understood right: if I accept the invitation and make a proposal through that, it will go to the client?

I mean that I don't need to apply to the job separately, the "normal way" but can accept the invitation and apply through that?

That is correct.

Who would receive the message if I decline? The talent specialist who invited me or the client? I would hate to decline to the client when they are not the one who invited me in the first place.

This is a good question and one I have always wondered myself. That said and it's more important to be prompt in accepting or declining than it is to worry about who gets it. You were invited through an UW process so using the response process as part of UW is appropriate no matter what. I would like to know the answer as well out of interest, but regardless of that answer, I would not respond any differently.

Hello Avery!
I accepted this kind of invitation but in the job post chat there is only the UTS besides me and she hasn't been only at all, so, how is the client going to see my proposal if he is not in the chat room with us? I'm worried because I like the job. Thank you
