I was invited to this job today by an Upwork Talent Specialist. It's for a full time job for $400-$500 per month. My hourly rate is $25. Is this a bug in the system because after just 2 days I would have reached their monthly budget.

No, not a bug. Just a "talent specialist"

Rhetorical question? 😉

I don't know. That's why I opened this thread. To try to find a resolution.

Unless there's been a recent drastic improvement in Upwork's so-called "Talent Specialists" (which I doubt) they are almost useless, and you might as well opt out of receiving their invitations. There's a link here: https://support.upwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000316328-Upwork-Talent-Specialists?flash_digest=56e...

I hope the team can review this because it's a useful service if done right. Some of the invites have been interesting. The specialists clearly need better tools to be able to deliver more relevant matches.
@Richard W - thanks for the link; that's useful if I want to disable it completely.
