Is it okay for me to end a finished project contract?

Hi there Upwork guru,

I have finished a project with my client and he is satisfied with my work, but he never ended the contract. Recently, I found a button to end a contract, but I also wonder if I ended this contract, will my client can still give me feedback or a rating? and If a freelancer like me ends the contract, will it be bad for my profile or will it still count as a job success rate if I'm the one who ends the contract?

Thank you Smiley Happy

Yes. Go ahead and close the contract.

The client will automatically be notified that he has an opportunity to leave feedback.

If the client never leaves feedback... it won't have a negative impact on your JSS.

Hi Mr. Preston

Thank you so much for the information, it helps a lot!

I will close the contract right now

Thank you very much!

If the client was happy, it is always better to politely encourage the client to end the contract rather than closing it yourself, so you can get feedback.

When freelancers end the contract, clients often don't bother to leave feedback.

Whilst this doesn't HURT your JSS, it obviously doesn't help it either.
