Hi Rafsun,

This type of work is not allowed on Upwork and it is in violation of our TOS. If you have noticed any job posts with this type of content, please share more details with me via PM so that our team can review it further. Thank you.

Is the freelancer working on such adult content can be banned from upwork?

If you violate the terms of service then yes, that can lead to you losing your account.

Hi Donna,

Thank you for reaching out to us. As Petra and Goran already shared this type of work is not allowed and it is in violation of Upwork's Terms of Service. I encourage you to let us know if a TOS violation has happened by using the Flag as Inappropriate option throughout the platform. You can learn more about user reporting here.

Additionally, you can click on my name and send me a PM with more information about the job you are referring to? I will be sure to look into your report and escalate it accordingly.

Hi,
Anyone, please help me out asap

I discussed with the client every aspect of the project i.e requirements, instructions, etc. He never mentioned (even once) that most images contain nudity.
After receiving the images (20K) I checked a couple of photos (those were on the top) the images looked acceptable to me and I accepted the offer but right after accepting the offer when I scrolled down, I noticed that most of the images contain nudity.

waiting for your instruction on what should I need to do now.
(Note: After noticing this I haven't discussed it with the client yet)

Nudity is one thing pornography is another. If you are in doubt report the client.

3.1 Posting unacceptable content

You can’t offer, share, support or try to find anything that:
  • is illegal or defamatory
  • is violent, discriminatory or harassing, either generally or towards a specific person or group (or encourages others to be), including anyone who is part of a legally protected group
  • is sexually explicit or related to sex work or escort services
  • is in any way related to child exploitation
  • would infringe on any intellectual property rights, including copyrights
  • would violate our Terms of Service, another website’s terms of service, or any similar contract
  • would go against professional or academic standards or policies – including improperly submitting someone else’s work as your own, or by ghost-writing essays, tests, or certifications
  • involves purchasing or requesting a fake review or is connected in any way to making or sharing misleading content (like ‘deep fakes’ or ‘fake news’) which is intended to deceive others.

I am sure that the content is violating the Upwork TOS as most of the Images are ***ually explicit.
Thank you, Nichola for the help.

In addition to Nichola's post from the ToS, there is this publication.

What kind of jobs aren't allowed on Upwork

Yes, I knew Jonathan that such jobs are not allowed on Upwork.
• Actually the issue was, the client mentioned that the work is for a ''prototype app'' (he didn't mention even once that the content is related to adult-Industry or ***ually explicit)
• My mistake was that I accepted the offer based on randomly checking only 5-10 images those images were totally fine (out of 20K) when I was going to start, I observed the real scenario.

But anyways we have ended the contract and I have learned something new from the mistakes I made. Hopefully, I will not make such mistakes in the future.

Hi Mohsin and others,

We won't be able to discuss a specific job or client here in the Community for privacy reasons and since we don't have all the details. It is best to flag the job posting or a specific message that has content that you believe may violate the TOS directly to the Trust & Safety team for review. If they confirm that there is indeed a violation of TOS, they'll take action according to our internal processes.  If the client is flagged and/or suspended for Terms of Service violations, their feedback will not count against your JSS.

Hi Valeria,
Once I was hired, the job status turned into ''job is no longer available'' which is why I was not able to flag that post as inappropriate.
In the chat, the images were shared through google drive, and when I told him that the images are s**ually explicit and it's against Upwork TOS to work on such projects (I also provided him the link to the respective article) he simply replied that ''It is not against Upwork to work on this industry''. So what should I flag as inappropriate? (but I have the proofs)

But one thing I did for sure was that I flagged his new post (he still has not mentioned clearly about the industry).

I respect your concern and privacy but you guys have not even tried listening to me there are tons of ways to discuss. Now I am just worried about my JSS.

You can report the messages directly from the chat room.

I am sharing a job which is actually asking to upload porn video. Please take necessary steps. Here is the link

Hi Goran! Does it mean even exotic dancing is not allowed to be marketed? No nudity on the website, but contain pictures with lingerie. Is adult content like this also banned?

Hi Veronika,

I understand that you wanted to confirm whether exotic dancing counts as a TOS violation. Please know that these types of job posts are not allowed as per Section 3.1 of the Upwork Terms of Use.

Just say upwork doesn't allow nude content.  In addition,  my religion forbids me to work on such images.

Should I wait for Support help? as if the client cancels the contract It will negatively impact my JSS. It's been over 11 hours and none of the moderators replied, what should I do now?
by the way, I have informed the client that I am not doing this work.

Thanks Prashant

re: "Should I wait for Support help?"

No.

You don't need Support for this.

If you have a question, you may ask your question here.

You don't need answers on this topic from Upwork Customer Support.

Forum participants can answer your questions.

If you want to flag a job, you can flag a job.
If you want to flag a communication within the Upwork Messages tool, you can right-click and flag a job in the Upwork Messges tool.

If you want to work for a client, you can work for a client. If you don't want to work for a client, you can stop working for a client or never start working for a client.

Deleted as I replied to a really old post - typical of the chronological disorder in the forums.

In this case, since the job broke the TOS, Upwork will remove the job and thus any reference to it in OP's job history, right?
Any mod?

That's the main reason I was asking here. Usually, the moderators reply within an hour. I don't know why they haven't replied yet after soo many hours.

I bookmarked the post, hopefully someone will show up to clear it up.
