Does this seems legit to you?

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITY:**Edited for Community Guidelines**
You will receive your pay weekly, Friday of the week via wire
transfer,Direct deposit or check,Depending on which you prefer.

What payment option do you prefer?

I'm positive that it's a scam. Very similar to ones I've come across. Also, they are offering to pay outside of Upwork, which is against the Terms of Service. They obviously know this as that's why they did not want to communicate via Upwork messenger.

I'll bet that if you wrote back and told them that payment outside of Upwork is against the TOS, they would get jicky or stop responding period. Been there.

Omar, it is best to cut off communication and report to Upwork with a screenshot of this message so that they can be removed from Upwork.

Be very careful!

I've come across similar jobs almost identical to this that have been scams. Personally, I think it's safer to disregard these invitations.

First off, if they say they have reviewed your cover letter, that is a red flag if you haven't applied to that job. The cover letter is only during the proposal process.

Also, they shouldn't require you to download an app to talk to them. Some ask for a Skype id and that is ok, however, in my experience it is always a scam when they ask you to download an app in the invitation.

Plus, if you look the company up it seems legit, so why all the punctuation errors in the invitation? And the gmail address for an established company that has supposedly been around since 1927? A scam job I came across posed as a legit company, so if you go forward, use caution. Do your research on the company and if the interviewer is vague, unprofessional, etc., take your leave.

Your gut made you a bit suspicious. In cases like this, it's better to trust your gut.

I never doubt it from the first minute, its obviously a scam, this "upwork" should be responsible for detect accounts like these and assign a direct button to address issues like that.

They do try to stop these jobs from getting to the marketplace, but sometimes they make it through anyway.

The best thing to do is withdraw your proposal with the reason "inappropriate client behavior." Or go to the original job posting and flag/mark as spam. Then, hop on a chat with an Upwork agent and send a screenshot of them offering payment outside of Upwork. Upwork will let you know if any action is taken to remove them from the platform.

Also, does this means that all my contact info are vulnarble !!

That depends on what you gave them. Did you give any bank info? Your phone number, email address, home address can be misused, but it is unlikely.

Thank you very much Nia.

They probably won't bother to do anything with this info; they'll just move on to see who else they may be able to scam. Don't worry too much. Just report and everything should be fine.

If you'd like you can set up a Google alert for your name, email address, phone number, etc. so that anytime this info shows up online you will know about it. This way, you can act ASAP to protect yourself.

Hi Omar,

I can confirm this job is not legitimate as the client has offered to pay directly for your work in your direct communication. I'll report the client to our team and he'll be removed from the platform shortly. Stop communicating with this client and in the event you receive a similar request in the future, please take a screenshot of the client's message and share it with Customer Support.
