Isn't it time to start removing Commission Only jobs from Upwork?

Hello,

This kind of jobs is plainly against the TOS and yet, we still see many of them on the platform. They should be reported automatically whenever a client says "commission only" on a job post.

Why ?

Because if you take that job you'll have an open contract with no billing until you get a commission after weeks, months, or years OR NEVER.

Which is basically FREE work. Isn't free work against the TOS ?

I think more serious actions should be taken in this regards.

Hi Imene,

I would like to confirm that commission based jobs aren't prohibited by Upwork TOS and need to be structured as fixed-price contracts.

It would be against the TOS for clients to request freelancers to do any free work.

Please check this thread for more information on how to use the flag option found on each job post or message to report any suspicious or inappropriate content.

Thank you!
