I have tried to verify my bank account and have yet to see any "small deposits" into my account. Is anyone else having this issue, or know of any resolutions?
I want to be able to apply for certain jobs, but cannot because my bank account is not verified. Also, For the jobs I have accepted, I worry I will not be paid.
I attempted to reach out to Upwork customer support, but have yet to hear anything.
Tips?

Looks like you have created a client (employer) profile on Upwork instead of a freelancer. Freelancers are not required to verify their billing method using two small deposit for authentication. To get paid as a freelancer you should have bank account details as a payment method and upwork takes 3 days to verify it before sending your first withdrawal, it doesn't require any deposit.

My account is a freelancer account (verified this information, to be sure). When I go to the "Get Paid" link, my account information has a small red-text alert under it saying "Requires Verification" and a link to "verify now"
Clicking on the "verify now" link it reads the following:
"Please enter the two amounts found on your bank statement of Bank Account ending in ****
Deposits usually appear within two business days. Please contact us if it takes more than five!"

Hi Sir!
I have already attached my bank account for withdrawal. But when I received amount from one of my client through direct contract, I wanted to withdraw but the statement was written there your beneficiary account not matched with your name. I removed the attached Bank account and added the correct information but still the statement is same' the beneficiary account not matched'. Please help how can I attach correctly or there is something in process to verify. Please help

It may take around 3 days for the small deposits to show up on your bank statement. If it's been longer than that, you may want to check if you entered correct account and routing numbers when you added your bank account. Try re-adding the account with correct information.

It looks like before you entered your bank account number with one missing digit and that may have been the reason the charges didn't go through. If you entered the correct information today, please allow 3 days for the amounts to show in your bank account.

Olivia, this is happening to me as well. I have tried to verify my bank account twice now, and so far no luck.
The first time around, it took so long that I forgot about UpWork all together. I ended up deleting my bank info and trying again this time. I did look back pages and pages into my online banking and saw that those small deposits showed up about 2 months after the fact....
I wonder why its taking so long...

I checked and it looks like verification amounts were charged to your bank account back in the beginning of May. You should still be able to use them to verify your account. Please, let us know if you run into any issues.

upwork has our address and 1099 why do you need to verify our bank account..we need to fight that!

We have decided to check if a freelancer has a verified U.S. bank account as a screen to confirm location, but may take into account a number of other factors, such as W-9 information and/or login activity. At this time, having a U.S. bank account is the only way to confirm your location if asked. This may change in the future as we continue to test and develop this new feature.

Hi. I couldn't find my previous post so I'm replying to this one. I had an email from an Upwork moderator on 7/13 telling me to make sure my banking information is correct. I did that - and still have not seen the expected deposits. Can someone please contact me directly about this? I am hesitant to seek any work until I'm sure I can get paid.
Also, I was surprised at the number of responses I got to my post! This seems to be a known issue that many Upwork users are experiencing.
We need a resolution. If there is something specific I need to do, something I've done incorrectly, whatever - let me know please.

Hi Sean,
It may take up to 5 days for the deposits to show on your bank account. You can also check with your bank about the deposits and make sure that the information you entered such as account and routing number are correct.

In my case ( freelancer Profile), I have a complete payment method, today I got 2 deposits in the bank. but don't know how to verify. i went with an article to finish billing method first, i have successfully connected billing method but yet there is no verify option appears to me.

Location verification can be completed on this page. Please, note that the location information on your Upwork account has to accurately represent your physical location. The payment method you add to your account has to belong to you and the name on it should match your profile name.

Did you ever get this resolved? I am in the middle of a job now and cannot verify my account to get paid for the milestones that are done. I have a freelancers account and it still asked me to verify with two amounts found in my account.

Hey I'm having this same issue.
I've re-added my bank info twice, even called my banek to ensure that they didn't reverse the deposit, and I''ve only gotten pre-written support messages from the email support.
Please let me know if you can help ... I'm pretty desperate by now.
