JSS Below 75 and having difficulty finding work

Due to complete fault of my own, my job success score (jss) is below 75 at 74 percent.

I was away from Upwork for a year and have attempted to return to freelancing. I am having a very difficult time finding jobs.

I have been spending more money than I would like on connects so that I can apply for jobs, but having little luck.

In the two weeks that I have been back freelancing on Upwork, I have only been awarded one very small $14 job. The job went well with the client happy with the work that I did. However, it only put up my job success score by one percentile from 73 to 74 percent.

I am starting to get very discouraged.

Can anyone give me some advice on how I can increase my chances of being awarded jobs with such a dismal job success score?
