So how come one project which is paused by the client can affect by JSS by 8%?
When you only have a few, it can. You only had 4 contracts with feedback, so the next one represents a whopping 20% of your overall body of work and affect your JSS significantly.
I assume the contract is paused and never had any money paid undeer it, but has been open for over 2+ months?
Discuss it with the client. All it needs is some payment to be made, however small (over $ 1.00)

Private feedback which, in my opinion, is unfair.
Also remember a lot of these people refund clients to hide bad feedback and then pretend like it never happened on the forum. Not sure who they are trying to kid, but it's pretty stupid considering Upwork employees can see the refund. But the Internet doesn't send its best to Upwork.
eta: oh yeah and some of them harass clients to change public feedback not knowing that it doesn't change private feedback. And of course don't forget the ones that try to extort a high rating in exchange for the work a client paid for.
