I submitted a proposal to a posting for a personal statement for postgraduate applications and got a reply. But then I was told the job had been removed for violation of ToS. I thought that writing a personal statement like this fell well outside the definition of fraud, not being part of the academic curriculum, but Upwork seems to think otherwise. I never apply for any job that might be a violation of ToS.
Is this kind of job generally considered academic fraud?

Think about it logically.... Do universities ask for such statements because they want applicants to pay for it to be done by random strangers or because they want to assess the response the applicants themselves reply with?
Hint: The answer is, of course... YES, it's academic fraud.

Thanks. I'd never really thought about it before. I've replied to a few similar posts in the past, not realizing it was fraud.
