Job success score not available yet

peterbotros

Hello,

I have been waiting for a while to get my job success score; I have searched the forums here to get an idea about when it will show up and most of the answers were that I have to complete at least 4 contracts with 3 different clients.

Well I have completed 5 contracts with 3 different clients; and waited for the new update of the JSS but in that new update -which was today- the JSS is still “not yet available”.

Can anyone tell me the reason of that?

Or even better if one from Upwork support solves the problem”if any”.

Appreciate your help and thanks in advance.

Could any one help explaining that to me.

"private feedback"

Hi Peter,

While we can't share specific details about users' Job Success Score, you can find more information about the factors and how the score is calculated in this Help article and blog.

Thanks zoksh and valdimir,

I just find it very strange that clients that would re-hire you for new contracts (which mean they are very satisfied wih your work); would give you a bad "Private feedback" or wouldn't recommend me for other clients.

2 of my 3 clients (for the completed jobs) rehired me directly without even publising a new job posts for the new tasks; one of them for 4 contracts (3 completed and 1 in progress) and the other for 3 contracts (1 completed and 2 in progress).

please advice if i can start a ticket with Upwork support for that matter or not?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You obviously "can" but it will make no difference what-so-ever at all.

Were there any contracts that don't show on your profile because they never started or were refunded? They could count as well.

Thanks Petra,

I have contracts that wouldn't show on my profile because its first milestone has not been approved yet.

but i guess if one client with a multible contracts had a habit of giving me a bad private feedback then i think t is better to not accept any more work wih him. don't you think.

Thanks

How many, and how long ago did they start?

Two other contracts; one started on the 9th of September (but its first milestone just got approved about an hour ago); and the other one started on the 24th of September.

All with repeated clients.

No, those would not have a negative effect.

How many clients (different ones) did you have altogether?

You never accepted a contract which ended (or is still open) with no payments made for a long time, or where you refunded?

At any rate, it is (frankly) pointless worrying about it. Nothing that can be done to things in the past, carry on doing a good job and it'll go up.

So, my Upwork score dropped from 97% to 85% today. I guess the score is calculated based on the work done in the past two weeks. I haven't received any negative scores during this time. I have got new projects and have good working relationship with my clients, have repeat jobs and positive feedback. So, I'm not sure about this sudden drop.

When I contacted the chat support, he says that some client "might have" given me a negative scoring that might have impacted the scoring.

Firstly, I need to just assume that someone might have in private given a negative score whenever there is a drop in rating despite projects going on well and receiving a positive feedback on the profile.

Even if a negative feedback was given in private, how can it have such an immense effect (12 % drop) on the rating despite all the postive feedback that you receive over the period?

Having worked hard on all the projects, I find this unfair and disappointing!

Has anyone else faced a similar situation? Does sending the scores for rechecking help?

Thanks,

Sumithra

It's not that bad. Mine have dunk below 90% today even tho nobody's complaining with my project delivery. How JSS is calculated is &&^% from my point of view.

Just keep up the good work. I believe you can still land a contract with a good proposal and track record.

Mine went down 1 point but I hit the $100k income for the year goal. Waypoint reached. Objective completed. Guess which one counts more at the end of the day?

Long live Upwork. Rock on Upwork dudes and dudettes.

I had one contract closed last week with good public feeedback.

I think client left good private feedback too as *Clients who would recommend you*  increased to 93%.  But to my surprise today my JSS decreased by  1%. I am really disappointed with this JSS metric.
