Job success score

I ended a contract (more than 100$ earnings) with a good feedback and 5 stars rating during the last 2 weeks and my Jss didn't increase while I checked the past 90 days contracts it was the same as the past 2 weeks, what should I do? I just need 1% increase to continue my top-rated eligible weeks.

Note: my JSS decreased from the last 2 weeks by 1% due to a contract (of 50 $ earnings) with 4.6 stars rating.

Because that's how percentages work. It's basically maths. Percentages over 50% always take way more outcomes to go up than to drop.

 

Think about it: If you have 9 green apples, your green apple percentage is 100%

If you then get a red apple, your green apple percentage falls to 90%

It's not updated yet. This happens EVERY two weeks. 

 

The "last updated" changes to today's date and the forum is flooded with "MY JSS HASN'T INCREASED" posts. Some people even write 2...

 

Don't look at it until late afternoon, evening on Sunday UTC.

 

That said, one contract is not necessarily enough to increase your JSS anyway.

JSS CLARIFIACTION

 

I have been working on UpWork since last month. My profile was live last month but i made it 2 years ago. Now i have done work more than 120 hours on 3 contracts and earnings are more than $2k+. I have 2 different clients. 2 of my jobs are completed and the long term contract which is more worthy is still going on with my first client. So i have 2 5-star review jobs and 1 on going project, billed more than 2k+ and still going on. 

 

I see some freelancers on UpWork have not earned even 1k and billed 100 hours getting a JSS just for doing small jobs with different clients, that is pretty much unfair with someone who has worked more and earned more on UpWork. I demand a JSS clarification for myself and for those who have not got ,but some freelancers with minimal earnings and small projects have.

You don't get to "demand" a thing. That's just rude.

 

Here is your clarification: You'll get a JSS when you've completed 4 or more contracts with at least 3 different clients, or when you have ongoing contracts that have several 3-month periods of activity.

Just an FYI, using the word "demand" is extremely forceful, and it's not really appropriate in a Community forum. In English it's very close to the word "command" like telling someone what to do. Since everyone here is here to help, and most are just volunteering knowledge, to DEMAND they help you is an overreach, and that's why it's rude. 

 

Just giving this background as I know there are some less fluent English speakers here who may not understand why that's considered rude. 

 

It's always better to say "Can someone please help me with XYZ..." 

Hi Petra! I've completed 7 jobs with different clients and have an ongoing contract with a client with 30+ hours and still no JSS. Is there something else I can do, or something I'm doing wrong? Smiley Frustrated

Yes, it's likely that you get it today, but it can take time. It usually appears late Sunday evening UTC, sometimes not until the morning.

There is no Job Success Score is showing on my profile. I have been working on 4 projects and now it has been 50 days I am working on the projects, but still there is no JSS on my profile yet. You don't have enough completed contracts with feedback in the last 2 years, so no JSS can be calculated. You need at least 4-6 completed (!) contracts with feedback from at least 2 different clients within the last 24 months to get a JSS again.

Do I need to close a contract to get JSS. what happens if a contract is paused and I have requested feedback. I have multiple open contracts where the assgnment was completed and I am waiting for future work.

To get a JSS you need to have contracts that have been closed AND which have feedback from the clients. Ideally, the clients would be the party who closes the contract.

Hi, I've completed 4 contracts with 4 different clients. I have 4 feedbacks with 5 stars. I've completed my last contract 2-3 days ago. How many days should I wait to get JSS with %100?

The JSS is only updated e very second Sunday evening UTC. It was updated last Sunday and won't update again until next Sunday. 

You may get a JSS next Sunday, whether it will be 200% remains to be seen because the stars don't mean much as far as the JSS is concerned.

Just ridiculous. This is the wrong opportunity with the client. How can anyone do that. Client can give us 5 star public review & also can give us poor private review which can ruin our profile. So embarrasing. I feel bad for this platform. The worst terms.
