Law jurisdiction and my professional indemnity insurance

Hi,

My professional indemnity insurance covers me for contracts where I am working under UK/EU law. How does that affect me working through Upwork? Am I technically bound by US laws given that the platform is even if I work with clients in the UK/EU through this platform? If so, can I change that in my personal agreements for my projects through Upwork?

Clarification would be much appreciated.
