I just finished my first project with my first client.
But now, I cannot submit any more proposals (grayed out); instead, I get a message that says I have to do a live video chat to verify my identity. I don't have a webcam and the link only takes me to the help page and not the actual link.
If upwork is using me as a test subject, I only wish they did not disable my proposal button in the process. Can't I just upload a picture of myself holding up a sign that says 'I'm human?'
If you don't have a webcam, you can proceed with the video call on your mobile device. Navigate to the Help Center from your computer, click the Verify My Profile button and inform the agent you'd like to conduct the video call on your mobile. Our agent will then guide you through the process and fully reinstate your account after your profile is verified.
