Login through a client's account

I have come across a unique situation. My Upwork client asked me to evaluate some proposals and samples they have for a job posted on Upwork. Usually I ask my clients to invite me as a hiring manager and everything is fine. This client however did not want to do that but would rather have me log in with their credentials.

The question I have now is: Is this something Upwork allows? As I would be logging into a second account from the same connection and most platforms have some rules against using two accounts from the same IP. Is that relevant here?

Absolutely not!

That is what I was thinking. Just need some confirmation on the issue. 🙂

The client's request doesn't make any sense at all!

If the client is new to Upwork, it could be just a mistake.

If the client is experienced on this platform, I'd suggest you being extra careful!

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for posting this question in the Community. Would you consider following up with the client again, asking them to invite you to their team and sharing this Help article? It's possible they aren't aware of this process or have certain reservations about it.

Please also ask them to contact Customer Support if they are still uncomfortable and would like to discuss this process further, and receive guidance from our team. Thank you.
