Losing proposal response to invite by clicking out of the window

Okay, this is going to be more of a rant than anything else, I do apologise.

I received an invite earlier today. I've been working on a deadline until around 15 minutes ago (00:12) and finally go round to typing out a full detailed response to the invite. That took me around 15 to do (not that long in regular time, but at midnight it feels like a long time). I then accidentally clicked to the left hand side of the response window, and everything just disappeared. Upon clicking on the accept interview button again, everything was blank. This isn't the first time it's happened to me, BUT IT'S STUPID! Why the **** is this a thing?

There's no way I'm typing everything out again, so I just declined the proposal to avoid getting penalised for not responding withing 24 hours. How has this problem not been addressed? I don't submit proposals very often, but this has been a problem for YEARS!!

There don't seem to be that many changes from Elance to Upwork, but every single one I've encountered so far has been terrible for UX.

I know this doesn't help any, because Upwork is what it is and it will probably never be fixed.

I've gotten into the habit of emailing links a job post or invite I want to bid on. Then I write the bid in a simple text program, click on the link, copy/paste and send. It's saved me many a time.

Thanks Virginia, come to think of it I used to type out my invite proposals in a word doc as well, it just slipped my mind. While I realise my rant was a tired one, I still do feel that this is a ludicrous long running bug.

I don't know that I've ever seen a "short-running" bug on this site. So I attempt to make do; writing bids on my system has proven to be a bit more secure. The scenario you mention can happen, and as has happened a few times with me, the site goes down in the middle of writing a bid. Some bids require more thought and work, so I take that into consideration.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience while trying submit your proposal, Scott. I'll be sharing this with the team.
