I have had an open contract for a company I did a little job for, it has been open for 8 or 9 months. It shows up on my open jobs page on my profile, but I do not show up on the company's open jobs in their profile.
I have made several attempts to contact these people but I get nothing, they are actively on Upwork I can see but they don't respond to me.
The open contract with no billing is dragging my score down. I don't iknow why I should pay the price for in irresponsible client.

What is dragging your score down is feedback that isn't particularly great, public and private.
Take a look at your "My Stats" page and the "clients who would recommend" stat....
THAT is dragging your JSS down. My guess would be it's below 80% so a JSS of over 90% is great under the circumstances.
If you did " a little job" for those people why would it be a contract that had no earnings? Was there no milestone and if hourly, why didn't you log the time for the little job?
You are top rated, just close the contract and **IF** that affects your JSS, use your perk to remove the impact (if you haven't used it in the last 3 months and 10 contracts)

So you can guarantee me that an open contract without billings over a period of time won't move my score down?

I can not guarantee it, but considering that your JSS actually is 92% when your feedback suggests that it would normally be lower (I was right with the Clients recommend percentage being below 80%, wasn't I?) would strongly suggest that it is having no effect.
Is that the contract that is showing as hours logged but no earnings? Did you refund or did the client fail to pay or how come that contract led to no earnings?
Just close it. In case it does have an effect use your perk.

No earnings since orig job.

" I can not guarantee it"
So what guarantee do I have that anything you said is true?

Well, you may do as you please.
I spent some of my time giving you a way forward, but it would appear you just wanted to have a whine and were not interested in solutions (which are difficult to give when you are obstinately refusing to answer any questions.)
By the look of your profile that contract would have had its effect already (as it has been inactive for that long) and with your feedback history and your "clients who would recommend" rating being in the mid-upper 70s (?), which includes only clients who DID answer the question, if that contract WAS affecting you your JSS would be even lower.

So how did you manage not to get paid for it?

I don't believe I mentioned if I was paid or not.Why did you assume I wasn't?

You said contract with no earnings. You also said it does not show on your profile. Open contract that does not show on profile means no earnings or fully refunded. (which also means "no earnings")

How did that happen?
IS it the job that shows as hours worked but nothing earned?

It's weird that the open job doesn't show up on their profile. Is that normal?
