Hi everyone, good day!! I want to say something..... I was applying almost 12 jobs post last month. But I did not hire any single job. Even I did not get any reply from the client. I am not disappointed about that. But I saw that most of the clients did not hire any single freelancer for the job post. It's almost about 20-27days gone the job post still appears in Upwork.
Many freelancers with me lost their Connects to bidding on these job posts. But clients did not hire any single freelancer for this job post. When a job is canceled freelancers get back their Connects. In that case, What is happen?
What says Upwork?
Does Upwork take action against this job post or clients?
Will Upwork give me back the connects I already lost to apply for this job?

Hi Shakti Kumer,
Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your feedback and concerns. Sometimes, a project may get canceled or a job may be removed from Upwork without a hire. In the following cases, these Connects will be returned:
If you have applied for a job and it’s no longer available because of a violation or wasted Connects on a job proposal that turns out to be fraud, we will return your Connects. In these cases, Connects are credited back to your account for reuse — not for a refund of their cash value. Feel free to check this help article for more details on how to best manage your Connects.
Our teams are working to address the situation around scam and spam jobs, including higher than usual volumes of scam posts, constantly changing methods of scam accounts, and gaps in user education around Upwork TOS and safety. Additionally, I assure you that we'll continue sharing your feedback with the team and providing updates to the Community about the team's initiatives.

So you really need to change how you think about connects. See the connects are not for you put in the arcade machine and because you didn't win you push the button to get your quarter back. You are a freelancer and with that you have to keep in mind that there are expenses as a freelancer. So see you didn't lose your connects, you made an investment to obtain a contract. Yes it makes me furious when a client doesn't hire a freelancer and doesn't bother to cancel the contract. But that is the freelancing game, you win some and you lose some. You just have to keep pushing through. I have also had a prior client who left the job open after interviewing with him only to come back four months later to hire me at double my rate because he thought he found a cheaper person to do the work. Always think positively, negativity will only bring you down.
