Manual time approval

Hi! I'm having troubles understanding how does the manual time work on upwork.
I just recently worked on my first hourly and logged 3 hours manually. The whole week I could see them in the contract, but today (Monday) I looked at the contract room and it turned into zero. So "All timesheets and earnings" shows zero as well, even though I can still see that there's manual time logged in my work diary on certain day. Does it mean that the client decided not to pay? I'd really like to know how that works for future projects. Thanks

Today is a new week. You should see your 3 hours under last week's hours.

Please be aware that there is no protection at all for manual time.

But how to know if it was paid? Or customer just forgot to click approve and now train is gone?

re: "Or customer just forgot to click approve and now train is gone?"

There is no button to click.

Clients (customers) DO NOT APPROVE time.

They don't approve automatically-logged time.

They don't approve manual time.

As a freelancer, I get paid AUTOMATICALLY for the time that I log. The client does nothing.

Upwork -> Report -> Overview

Not as easy that that.

Freelancers don't know if the client has paid for manual time or not until the day before the funds become available to withdraw. If the contract hasn't been put on hold on the Friday and the funds haven't been reversed the following Tuesday, the client (8 days earlier) has paid.

Otherwise, you don't know if they have or haven't paid (luckily, in the vast majority of cases, they have.)

Andres, The manually logged time gets billed and paid automatically unless the client disputes the manually logged hours during the review period.

Manually logged time is not covered or protected by Upwork payment protection, so if the client's payment method fails or if the client used an unauthorized card, Upwork will not pay you for the manually logged hours or hours with low activity! You will be paid only for hours logged using the tracker with a reasonable activity level! ( The green bars)

It's always best to avoid situations where you have to log manual hours. Always try to use the tracker to log time, but for some reason, if you missed automatically tracking the time, take a chance and log manual hours and hopefully, you will be paid.
