May I hire another freelancer?

I have designed a device and it looks very good. My client asks me for a prototype. I don't have the workshop or tools for this purpose. I told him, I can hire someone and manage the prototyping for him. But I don't know am I allowed to hire someone or not. 

Is there anyone to answer me?

You can hire another freelancer to work on this project if the below 2 conditions apply:

1. You have a fixed rate contract and not an hourly one.

2. You have notified your client you are going to sub-contract for the prototype.
