Membership type

Hi, I signed up a few days ago as 'freelancer' but I think I'm actually better suited to 'project' work. I've tried to change this in my profile but it doesn't look like i can edit this information. Does this actually matter - I just didn't want it to effect the the type of opportunities I cold view? Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve,

Just to clarify, you're still interested in offering your services on Upwork as a professional, not hiring professionals to complete projects for you? If you're interested in bidding on jobs, then freelancer account is what you need. Please, note that there are two types of contracts that can be created on Upwork - fixed-price and hourly. You can learn more about them here.

Hi, thanks for coming back to me. I'm interested in offering 'my' services
as a professional, so it sounds like I have the correct type of membership.

You are either a client, agency, or a freelancer.

Client = hiring freelancers to do a job

Freelancer = individual who is looking for freelance work

Agency = a group of freelancers operating as a team
