Missing Message

I sent a message and document to a client at around 5:45 pm Friday Sept 18 which was the deadline. This morning Sept. 21, the message has disappeared possibly upsetting the client. This may adversely affect client feedback and cost me further work. How can a message be dropped from the workroom?
