Multiple Scam Video Editing Job of same description

Hi,

Since the past two days I have seen more than 50 job posts with the same description (Attached below). The payment is unverified and it seems like a bot posting every few minutes. I have flagged so many of them but still no relief. This is really problematic.

Ther person seems to have linked their video and my contention is they are doing this to rake in views on their videos. Still it's horrible that upwork is not able to delete or ban multiple listings, especially when it is a word-by-word copy. It is becoming difficult to find work and sort through genuine job posts when every second post is this!

Yes, that's happening a lot, on top of all the outright theft scams. Others post links to their sites to generate more traffic. Some even require you to give details of the content at the link when you submit your proposal, just to be sure you clicked. I wish there was a way to have sites like this eliminated from Google searches.

Here is another one.
This job has been posted at least 10 times from different accounts and there is another one where "client" sends to this website

It's becoming very annoying.  Can Upwork please put some protocols in place to avoid such things? Putting up a verified payment method should become necessary as most people avoid it.

Exactly, I see it pop up every few minutes!
Is there anything we can do about it other than flagging it?

I don't know which job you're referring to because your post has been edited, but today I sent a search for the first one listed to a mod, reporting spam (I seem to remember that 7 jobs appeared)

It goes along the lines of:

Also there's another one I'm seeing a lot:

Read full discretion before submit proposal,

I Need a video editor for my YouTube channel.you can submit your proposal by following 2 step .
YouTube link :  __________

1. View my YouTube channel and observe how you can help me.

2. Subscribe this channel and take a screenshot and the screenshot attach with file section as a prove that you visit my channel.

It's really annoying..

Wow. Seven matches when I clicked on it. This is crazy. Upwork needs to start tracking IP addresses and block people like this from spamming the site with their rubbish.

Hey Maria,

Yes these are two I was referring to.
There are 7 of the first one and 10 of the second. I think I flagged maybe 20 job posts or more today!

I wish Upwork would look into this a little bit as it is spamming the whole process!

Well, we have the search links. We can check from time to time if any disappear.
If they don't edit them.

Hi All,

I'd like to confirm that the jobs discussed here are being reviewed by our Trust & Safety team. Those of them that violate Upwork TOS will be actioned according to our processes.

Thanks for flagging.

Thank you Valeria.
So is it okay if we post search links for you to check out?
By the way, as I mentioned elsewhere, it would be nice to have a way to flag spam or scam jobs directly in the search listings. I have stopped flagging them because it takes a lot of work unless I open it because it may interest me and I find something suspicious.

Yes, flagging them all really does take a lot of time.

Maria, please refrain from identifying a specific job or posting a direct link to a specific post. Links to searches are okay, unless they lead to or identify one specific job.
I've noted your suggestion regarding a flag option in search and have shared it with the team.

Perfect, thanks Valeria. If we can at least publish the searches, we move forward.

That's hopeful, but there are 132 items in that search today.

Here is a different set (104 in total) that are all built from a template.

Thanks Valeria!
Agree with Maria - if there was a way to flag from the search itself it would make it much easier for us

Hi - this has not been resolved at all. I still see multiple job posts of the same description every single day. The least we can do is ban a specfic phrase since it is either a bot or a really bored person.
Either way it is affeting our chances to see the actual job posts.

Wow, I hadn't checked it.
We have 67 in the first search and 53 in the other!
Any moderator to clarify why these "spam / scam" ads do not disappear?

Surely "someone" can select all of them and delete them.

I hope someone can and does. But Upwork can't share any details on how spam/scams are blocked by them because it would make it easy for them to be posted. Oh, wait...
